Katelyn and Grandma always spend time together at the Marigold Festival each year. This year they could not - Grandma and Grandpa had been traveling for a family funeral and were exhausted. There are years that Katelyn and I go, or the boys, Katelyn and I. I had not planned on taking the boys, since there is a new nasty virus out there.
Katelyn signed up for the chalk drawing contest being held today. She headed over to the park about 9:00 a.m. and didn't leave until after judging around 4:00 p.m.
She text and Facetimed Randy and I throughout the day and then we headed there about 2:00. She was in her element and was as happy as a clam when we arrived.
We took along chairs, water and an umbrella as the sun was bright and hot on this 79 degree day. We also brought along tissues and stayed to ourselves as all four of the boys are fighting a cold/sore throat thing.
We all chilled out, watched Katelyn draw and people watched. The Festival is always in the park . . . surrounding the beautiful pavilion and lagoon.
Here are some photos from our afternoon:
We were thrilled when her chalk drawing
