Seriously Again?

After a beautiful almost 50 degree day  the weather is crashing. The winds are whipping at up to 50 mph and the temperature is dropping. Right now, the temperature is 12 degrees. Factor in the windchill and it feels like -16 degrees.

Here is our Weather Advisory:

WIND CHILL WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TUESDAY...

A WIND CHILL WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST TUESDAY.

* TIMING...A PROLONGED PERIOD OF BITTERLY COLD WIND CHILLS ARE EXPECTED FROM LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MIDDAY TUESDAY.

* WIND CHILL...WIND CHILLS OF 25 BELOW TO 35 BELOW ZERO WILL BE COMMON.

* TEMPERATURE...ACTUAL AIR TEMPERATURES WILL DROP BELOW ZERO. THE COLDEST READINGS WILL OCCUR MONDAY NIGHT WHEN LOWS PLUNGE INTO THE 10 BELOW TO 20 BELOW ZERO RANGE.

* IMPACTS...THE EXTREME COLD IS DANGEROUS FOR ANY EXPOSED SKIN. FROSTBITE CAN OCCUR ON UNPROTECTED SKIN IN AS LITTLE AS 10 TO 15 MINUTES. THE RISK OF HYPOTHERMIA IS HIGH IF PROPER PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A WIND CHILL WARNING MEANS THE COMBINATION OF VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL CREATE DANGEROUSLY LOW WIND CHILL VALUES. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA OR DEATH IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.

You all want to join us, right?

The winds are blowing harder than I have ever heard them - short of the tornado a few months back. Our heavy wooden furniture has been moved all over. There have been things that have hit the house - still don't know what all has hit it. I certainly hope we don't have any damage.

Katelyn and Ryan went with friends to Winter Jam tonight. They are just getting out of there. I will certainly be glad when they are safe at home. I am thankful Katelyn didn't drive . . . Thank you so much Tonya! I imagine it will be white knuckle driving all the way home.

Be safe and STAY home!

You all have had such a cold winter and we have been hot and dry. Zero rain this winter, it's going to be a horrible, scary fire season for us! Praying your weather warms up soon!!

Cindy, I hope you get rain soon ~ I wouldn't want to deal with fire dangers.

We are hoping for an early spring, but doesn't look hopeful!
