Sickness, Trick or Treat, American Hero

The past few days have been long and a bit stressful . . . I took Katelyn and Cody into the doctor yesterday . . . they both had chest xrays. Cody was diagnosed with an inner ear infection and virus ~ antibiotics and a steriod for his chest congestion. Katelyn was diagnosed with borderline pneumonia ~ I am so thankful she began nebulizer treatments right away on Saturday morning and continued them throughout the weekend and Monday morning prior to the doctor appointment. I truly believe she would have had really bad pneumonia had she not kept her lungs medicated. She was running a high fever 103+ while at the doctor . . . which finally broke about 12 hours after beginning antibiotics and a steroid. Today she was feeling a little better, but actually gets tired very easily. She is out of college for the week ~ there is absolutely no way she could handle college all day. Come to find out, pneumonia is running rampant at the college . . . not good.

Last evening I greeted the Trick or Treat kiddos . . . plenty of candy for the itty bitty ones AND the teenage ones too. There were some real cutie pies and some very disturbing ones. Lil' Beckett sat out with me, inside my jacket to keep warm . . . the temperature was ONLY 40 degrees. I was a bit chilled to the bone and it took a few hours to warm up.

I have not gotten the kids together to take their Fall picture yet, however I did get a photo of our beautiful Japanese Maple . . .
This is a peek of my view while waiting for the Trick or Treaters last night.

Our tree is in full Fall Splendor!
I absolutely LOVE the red . . . it is breath taking!

Our small City is mourning the death of a hometown Marine . . .

Lance Corporal Jordan Bastean

Jordan was 19 years old . . . passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force out of Twentynine Palms, California.

Our City lined the streets with American Flags in honor of Jordan . . . hundreds of American Flags line the route . . . as is local tradition upon the escorting of a fallen soldier home.

Please pray for the family and community . . . the funeral and burial is scheduled for
Wednesday, November 2, 2011.

Thank you  for your sacrifice Lance Corporal Jordan Bastean . . .
YOU ARE OUR HERO!

I hope your day . . .
