Families are Really Not that Different!

I was chatting with Dear Sweet Friends today . . . Kristi and Doug, you know who you are, about how alike families really are . . . especially ours! It really is amazing that both households experience most of the same things each and every day . . . the same things that either bless us or drive us crazy!

  • unlimited hugs and kisses
  • fussing and fighting
  • grubby hands and face
  • squeaky clean and in their jammies kids
  • a child not wanting to do chores
  • a cheerful helper
  • a messy lived in house
  • a house ready for company
  • laundry
  • laundry
  • laundry
  • seriousness
  • silliness
  • quietness
  • extreme loudness
  • frustration
  • contentment
  • obedience
  • disobedience
  • exuberance
  • exhaustion
  • listening ears
  • being ignored
  • a job well done
  • a job not done
It is so good for families to compare notes . . . to know you are not alone in this journey called parenting and family. It is good for our children to see that not one family is perfect and that we all have to work at it to be the best we can be.

We all have easy times and challenges . . .

but in the entire scope of things . . .

we wouldn't change a thing!
